About the Role
The role develops and oversees a portfolio of WWF-Australia’s most high-profile and generous philanthropic supporters. As part of the Philanthropy and Development team, it is responsible for strengthening WWF’s ability to achieve its strategic objectives by building a sustainable income stream through 5-figure+ gifts, primarily through business development activities and building trusted relationships with high and ultra high net worth individuals.
Key Accountabilities (Refer to Position Description for full list of Key Accountabilities)
- Manages and enhances relationships within an existing portfolio of current prospects and donors; ensures that appropriate gift solicitations occur on a regular and timely basis and acquires significant gifts ($50k+).
- Makes full use of the available tools and tactics to undertake business development activities resulting in sourcing and building relationships with new prospects, ensuring proactive progression through the continuum of great relationship management (identification, research, cultivation, pre-solicitation, solicitation, negotiation and stewardship) to engage and on-board new major donors.
- Writes clear and compelling proposals and project briefs aligned with a donor’s expressed interests, the organisational strategic plan, integrated with the operating budget.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience (Refer to Position Description for full list of Selection Criteria)
- Demonstrated experience in relationship management with high net worth individuals.
- A track record of developing and implementing engagement plans for both new and existing customers/ donors.
- A track record of delivering against revenue targets.
- Excellent verbal/written communication and negotiation skills with demonstrated experience in generating income or fundraising.
